Vila
This dress was inspired by one of my favourite stories, Wuthering Heights. The romantic, ghostly shillouette and ethereal vision is created using layers of chiffon using layers of silk chiffon. The idea of the fabric floating gently in the breeze and billowing like storm clouds over the Yorkshire moors was the principle inspiration and this effect is enhanced by the hand painted detail around the dress, suggestive of a stormy sky. Vila is named after the Slavic nymph, a beautiful spirit with supernatural power over the storms.
This dress can be recreated in many different colours and with a variety of different detail. The photos show two different versions of Vila, one in silver grey and one in pink. The silver grey version features an encrusted halterneck detail and the pink version is much simpler, featuring butterfly corsages pinned to the dress. The dress also includes a sash around the waist and the length, fabric and style of this can vary, from short and simple as shown in the pink dress or long and flowing as in the silver version.
Prices begin at £200 using polyester chiffon and £400 in silk chiffon.
